Golden Honored as Spiders Sweep Weekly A-10 Awards
RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore forward Grant Golden was named Co-Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10, the conference announced Monday.
Golden shared the Player of the Week Award with Dayton's Josh Cunningham. It is the first time the Spiders have won at least a share of both weekly awards since January 28, 2018, when Golden was named the conference's Rookie of the Week and Nick Sherod was the Co-Player of the Week.
Golden totaled 22 points, tied for the team high, and eight rebounds while adding a career-high six assists and two blocks. He made eight of his 14 field goal attempts and was a perfect 6-6 from the foul line. Golden also earned the A-10's Co-Player of the Week Award last week following strong performances against Old Dominion and High Point. He is the first player to be named A-10 Player of the Week in consecutive weeks since Jaylen Adams of St. Bonaventure did it last season (December 26 and January 2). Golden joins Davidson's Kellan Grady as the only players to win Player of the Week from the conference twice this season. Read More
