Coach Rodney Carmichael He brings extensive coaching experience to the Virginia Elite bench including a stint as head coach of TG Sandhausen – a German basketball team overseas.

Coach Carmichael formally coached seven (7) division 1 players with Virginia Elite to include Grant Golden, James Butler and Ronald Alston. Understanding the commitment to achieving and results, Coach Carmichael brings the level of experience to continuing the Virginia Elite tradition.

Coach Carmichael also serves as Hayfield High School Varsity Assistant Head Coach. Additionally, Coach Carmichael served as assistant coach at Marymount University (DIII) under Coach Chris Rodgers. 

As a player, Carmichael played professionally on the international stage, spending time with the Winnepeg Cyclones and Germany Oberelshingen where he holds a club record for three pointers n a single season with 68.

Before his professional tenure, Carmichael helped Norfolk State to an 82-13 record from 1994-97. During his time with the Spartans, Carmichael was named to the Black Conference All-American team, All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and completed his collegiate career scoring over 1,000 points and recording 500 rebounds.

Coach Carmichael will involved in player development for the high school and youth teams for Virginia Elite.

Virginia Elite serves all parts of Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland and West Virginia. The premier AAU Grassroots Basketball program in Northern Virginia. Established in 2008 Virginia Elite has maintain a level of excellence that has resulted in many players playing at the highest level of high school and collegiate basketball.
